Comments:

News:
Very weak category overall. First place was obvious winner. Couldn't find anything worth second or third. The quality of entries was mediocre. A lot of the entries were in the wrong category. Would have placed a second or third if some photographers had followed through on some situations that had good potential. Make sure entries are worthy and not just enter for the sake of entering.

Multiple Picture:
First place showed photographer was making an effort to work all angles. Most entries did not tell a story and were only more pictures of the same thing. Need more levels of images in their stories, scene setting, detail, different angles etc etc.

Sports:
Difficult to judge category. There was some decent peak action but overall cliche.
First place was right place right time situation. Second place showed good timing but suffered from poor background. Third place interesting idea with negative space.

Portrait:
First place. Good moment and clear winner. Expressions are priceless. Many entries looked like snapshots and not portraits. Need to work on establishing some kind of relationship with the subject. Sometimes you need to spend most of your time speaking and engaging the subject then getting your portrait.

Feature:
Not an especially strong category. First place was a decent photo. Something everyone has shot while at a mosque and could have used a little tighter crop to put more emphasis on the young boy. Second and third were cute found features.
